The Pressbox Story
Royce apparel, Inc. was founded in 1984 in Landis, North Carolina. The company soon after opened a clothing factory in their hometown of Landis, NC offering domestic production to retailers. Not long after sales exceeded its production capabilities so the company started producing apparel abroad. In 2003 the company was bought out by RGI International, Inc. and the two companies merged forming the new Royce Apparel, Inc.
The company has offered various brands and private label through the years selling surf industry stores, skate stores, sporting goods chains and department stores. In 2004 Royce began producing collegiate apparel for domestic licensees and later became a Standard licensee themselves in 2007. The Pressbox brand was developed as an alternative to the basic conservative apparel that dominated the college industry. In the past year the company has acquired 32 licenses for various colleges and is expanding that number at a rapid rate.
Royce`s primary focus is to offer fashion forward collegiate merchandise that is being underserved by college market place. Royce follows current fashion trends and pays particular close attention to fabric and embellishment details. For instance, fabrics are heavyweight and are processed to give a soft washed hand feel. Appliqué and embroidery details is the another feature that sets us apart from other vendors. Royce focuses on using intricate appliqués that incorporate twill, French terry, brushed felts, antique satin and canvas. Embroideries consist of chenille, cotton and polyester threads.
In addition, Pressbox incorporates multiple fashion colors into each season`s palette to offer an alternative to solely school color apparel.
